The Haircut

The haircut from hell.

aka Butchery

Ok, firstly Venezuelan Men in Maracaibo all look the same. They all dress the same they all want the same things and they all have the same haircut.

This means that there individuality comes out in other ways - but this isn't about that. This about the haircuts.

Short back and sides

Thats pretty much it really.

So in I go with a head of hair thats in very bad condition. It needs a cut and it needs to be short. But short to me is shorter than what I had, which was about mid-shoulder length.

So Jack the Ripper says that my scalp is in bad shape from constantly having my hair tied back, and that the buildup of grease and the constant weight of the hair has caused it to fall out in places. I knew this - I have been sweeping the stuff up for weeks.

Ok, so he says it needs to be short. He shows me a book of hair styles. You all know this book. It' s terrible. All the guys in this book look like they've spent all day in the hair salon getting ready for a model shoot. Hey guess what! They have! I have first hand knowledge of this. A long time girlfirend(now ex-) was a hairdresser. I know some things.

He says "Like this but longer", I say, "Ok".

Big Mistake

I said that I wanted to take about 10cm off, and the first cut he made was about 20cm. I'm not kidding, my jaw dropped.

After he is done with the scissors, he gets out the flippin' hairdryer for goodness sake, and starts straightening the hair, but turning under the ends!!

By the end of it, I had straight hair coming from the top and center of my head which ended in a slight curl under the end. The end of the hair lined up with the bottom of my ears.

The man had transformed my head into something that resembled male genitalia!!

Either that, or astroboy....

... bear in mind that my hair was bottom-of-shoulderblade length

Anyway, I hate it. Now it sticks up everywhere, and there is some sort of line on the back of my head where the long hair from the top meets the short hair on the neck.

HATE HATE HATE HATE

I might as well have shaved the whole thing off!!

I am going back and telling him that he sucks, and demand my money back.
