The Culture Immersion Coefficient

This coefficient is inversly proportional (approximately)
to the number of time you go to McDonalds in 1 week.
The actual equation would be:
| where: |
| n |
= |
the number of visits to McDonalds / week. |
A CIC of 1 indicates full imersion, however, it should be
noted that the locals would on average have a CIC of 0.667,
since going to McDonalds is kinda trendy.
It is easy to achieve a CIC of 1 (or close enough) becuase
arepas are just so darn good.
A recent incident has prompted me to revise this equation however.
Provision should be made for different types of visits:
| CIC = | 1 |
| ----------------- |
| n - ( m / 2) +1 |
|
| where: |
| n |
= |
the number of normal visits per week (type 1) |
| m |
= |
the number of visits with, and suggested by, a local (type 2) |
|

This sign is probably the tallest thing around.
This is the Cabimas McDonalds
|
This effectively means that if you go to McDonalds as a result of the
suggestion or insistance of a local, that visit is only worth half that of a solo visit.
Further inspection shows that in fact the equation should be:
| CIC = | 1 |
| ----------------------------- |
| n - ( m / 2) + ( o * 2) +1 |
|
| where: |
| n |
= |
the number of normal visits per week (type 1) |
| m |
= |
the number of visits with, and suggested by, a local (type 2) |
| o |
= |
the number of visits with, and suggested by, a fellow expat (type 3) |
|
|
This would make it twice as bad to go to McDonalds with a group of gringos than it would
be by yourself, and only half as bad as with a group of latinos.
It should be noted that if the group contains an equal number of
gringos / latinos, the visit counts as a normal visit. An unbalancing of the number of
gringos and latinos should classify the visit as type 1 or type 2 accordingly.
