As you can see here, there are a lot of houses crammed onto the side of a mountain. I think generally they build from the bottom up.....
If you put enough of these houses on the side of a mountain, the mountain starts to look like this:
When you run out of mountain, you go high rise. In Caracas, one of the main streams of income seems to be advertising. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if some of these building are paid for by the enormous signs on the sides of them. "Yes, I live in the `Hush Puppy` building...."
